1 Scope
1.1 This Standard covers push-fit fittings intended for use with PVC pipe for irrigation systems, insizes IPS-1/2 to IPS-2, and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics,performance testing, and markings. Fittings covered by this Standard are intended for abovegroundand buried applications.Note: In this Standard, push?fit fittings are referred to as "fittings".
1.2 The requirements of this Standard are not intended to prevent the use of alternative materialsor methods of construction provided such alternatives meet the intent and requirements of thisStandard.
1.3 Proposals for amendments to this Standard will be processed in accordance with the standardswriting procedures of IAPMO.
