Formerly S12.22.01-1998. A modified version of IEC 60079-1. Specifies the constructional features and test requirements for flameproof enclosures of electrical apparatus intended to be used in Class I, Zone 1, explosive gas atmospheres. Applies to enclosures and parts of enclosures constructed of metallic and non-metallic materials. Deals only with flameproof enclosures and not with other means of protection against an explosion hazard.
