The primary purpose of this Handbook is to provide a source of statistically based design values for commonly used metallic materials and joints. Additionally, other mechanical and physical properties needed for the design of aerospace structures are included.

Mechanical and physical property data andcharacteristics pertinent to specific steel groups or individual steels are reported in Sections 2.2 through 2.7.Element properties are presented in Section 2.8.
