This Standard establishes minimum health effects requirements for the chemicals, the chemicalcontaminants, and the impurities that are directly added to drinking water from drinking water treatmentchemicals. This Standard does not establish performance or taste and odor requirements for drinkingwater treatment chemicals.
Issue 60: This issue adjusts the Single Product Acceptable Concentration (SPAC) for bromate from 0.005 to 0.0033 mg/L under Table C1 and section 6.3.2 for hypochlorite treatment chemicals. This issue also includes the removal of the current literature requirement for when the MUL has been lowered under section 6.3.2, clarifies the manufacturer?s use instructions under section 6.3.3, and removes the reference to Annex F.
Issue 61: This issue removes the low-bromate option under sections 6.2.2 and 6.3.2.2.
Issue 63: This issue corrects the Single Product Acceptable Concentration (SPAC) for chlorate from 200ppb to 300ppb to be consistent with the established rounding method.
