The purpose of these tests is to verify that the Unit Under Test (UUT) responds properly in accordance with the requirements of the governing standard. The tests are not intended to verify the mission aspects stated in the equipment specification.
The pass criteria is defined in each test paragraph. If any test fails, record the UUT response to that test.
This general test plan is intended for design verification of remote terminals designed to meet the requirements of AS 15531 and MIL-STD-1553B with Notice 2. Appendix A, B, and C provide cross references among this test plan, AS 15531, and MIL-STD-1553B. For those remote terminals not required to meet Notice 2, Appendix D and E list the changes in this test plan for MIL-STD-1553B only and MIL-STD-1553B, Notice 1. The test plan requirements apply to the terminal under test, when invoked in a specification or statement of work.
When invoked in a specification or statement of work, these requirements apply to the remote terminal and associated equipment which is developed either alone or as a portion of a system or subsystem development. The contractor is responsible for invoking all the applicable requirements of this document on any and all subcontractors he/she may employ.
